Banraku Theatre

Bunraku, or puppet theater, was also a very popular entertainment for the people of Japan. What was very surprising was that the puppet shows were for adults, not children. The reason that this style of performance is called Bunraku is that one of the first puppeteers was named Bunraku. Both Bunraku and Kabuki were performed only by non-humans.
